Properties and application of PVB/PMMA/PEG binder for metal powder injection molding:         2016-02-15

Through the method of melt blending of preparing polyvinyl butyral (PVB) / poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) / poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) bonding agent, using a rotational rheometer and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal gravimetric analysis methods of the binder melt flow behavior, microstructure and thermal decomposition behavior and for the 316L stainless steel metal powder injection molding. The results showed that the melt flow behaviour of the adhesive is pseudoplastic fluid; bonding agent degreasing speed and surface pore size than the inner aperture large, binder in argon atmosphere to complete thermal decomposition. The bonding agent can meet the requirement of 316L stainless steel metal powder injection molding process and technology.
